NIAGARA FALLS – The Niagara Parks Commission is pleased to present the 21st edition of its popular Falls Fireworks series, held in conjunction with Niagara Falls area stakeholders.

Canada’s longest-running fireworks series received additional support in 2014, through funding provided by the Tourism Partnership of Niagara. Thanks to these efforts, the series will be longer, running every Friday, Sunday and Holiday until November 30.

Over 80 shows will light up the skies, with bonus fireworks to be held every Wednesday night, from June 18 to August 27. In addition, an end of summer fireworks celebration will be held with nightly shows taking place Sunday August 24 through to Friday, August 29. These shows will help highlight Niagara Parks’ new Sound and Light show to be held within Queen Victoria Park.

NPC’s popular Coca Cola concert series will begin on Friday, May 16 and runs each fireworks evening, until October 13.

As part of the national Day of Honour, on Friday, May 9, the Niagara Falls Illumination Board will also commemorate the contributions and sacrifices made by those members of the Canadian Armed Forces who served in Afghanistan. Three 15 minute tribute illuminations of red and white have been scheduled to take place that evening at 9:00 p.m., 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

Established in 1925, The Niagara Falls Illumination Board is made up of representatives from the City of Niagara Falls Ontario, the City of Niagara Falls, New York, Ontario Power Generation Inc., The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and The Niagara Parks Commission. It is the Illumination Board’s responsibility and mandate to finance and maintain the nightly illumination of both the Horseshoe and American Falls.

NPC is committed to a vision of Ontario’s Niagara Parks as one that Preserves a rich heritage, Conserves natural wonders, and Inspires people world-wide. Founded in 1885, The Niagara Parks Commission is an Operational Enterprise Agency of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
