SAUER, Maureen Ann (Niagara Falls)

Born June 1, 1946.  Maureen passed away, peacefully, on July 25, 2012.  Husband Ted was by her side.  Maureen worked for Hospice Niagara for many years & died at their residence after weeks of tender care.  Maureen was co-founder of Grey Gables School.  She retired from teaching as soon as the children came, they being Leonard Joseph Sauer (March 9, 1983) and Robert Sheldon Sauer (January 31, 1989).  Maureen loved to walk.  In the early years it was the Rockies & the Bruce Trail and in recent years the Niagara Parks paths.  Maureen enjoyed fine films – Friday evenings in Buffalo or on the TV.  She loved reading and organized the library at the Coronation Centre.  Daily, she did the Crossword Puzzle.  Maureen had many friends who showed their caring nature in her time of need.  These included the “computer girls”.  She loved her family & friends both in B.C. and Ontario.   Maureen met her husband, Ted, at the bus stop in Toronto in 1969.  Both were on their way to the university.  They married in 1975.  Maureen is survived by her aforementioned husband and children, her daughter-in-law Danna Barak, and her brother, Robert, in Cobble Hill, B.C.  A celebration of Maureen’s life will be held at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, on Saturday August 11, 2012at 1:00p.m.
